Guwahati … Paradise on Earth!!

Here is a glimpse of 703.95 acre campus of IIT Guwahati, which is situated on the north bank of river Brahmaputra, around 20 km from the heart of the city. On the southern bank of the river is the Guwahati city, in the Kamrup district of Assam. Guwahati is the gateway to the north eastern states of India and a principal center of socio-cultural, political, industrial, trade and commerce of the entire region. Dispur, the capital of Assam is a part of Guwahati. The word ‘Guwa’ means areca nut and ‘Hut’ means market.

Travel information :

Guwahati is well connected by rail, road & airways, depending upon the time & money considerations you can choose a favorable option. I chose airways…tight schedule!!! sad . My flight was scheduled on 24 May 2014 at 7:55am from Mumbai Airport – Terminal 1B. Continue reading
