How to install Node.js on Ubuntu 14.04/15.04

The official Node.js site provides a windows installer for a hassle free installation. Alternatively, in the case of Linux and its various flavours, there is no specific install instruction. And the resources on the internet can provide you with too much of information and it would take some time to narrow down to what’s needed. To save your time, I have listed the required commands below:

Bam! It’s done. It was that simple.

Let’s test if the installation was successful by writing a Hello World program. Below is the code to create a simple http server:

Open up a browser and navigate to http://localhost:8080. If everything is okay, you should see “Hello, World!”.

MX Player build that works in Android Lollipop

Android Lollipop has been released & the updates are already rolling out for Nexus line of devices (and others too). That been said there are still some apps that have not been updated to work on Android Lollipop. It includes one of my favorite & essential app, MX Player.

I found the solution to this XDA forum’s (one of the most useful things … seriously!). Below is the link to the test builds ( Build Date : 15 Nov 2014).

  1. Pro version issue on Android 5.0 is fixed.
  2. Supports HW+ on Android 5.0
  3. Added View menu on the media list view with the options for view modes, sorting, displaying fields. (Now you view the media folders in hierarchical view, can sort files & more details can be added to list view)
